Welcome

Columbaria are granite structures with secured covered compartments called 'niches'. These structures are designed for above-ground committal of cremated human remains. A columbarium (pl. columbaria) is a place for the respectful and usually public storage of cinerary urns. The term comes from the Latin "columba" (dove) and originally referred to compartmentalized housing for doves and pigeons called a dovecote.

The only information permitted on the face of the niche door of the Columbarium is the name of the deceased, date of birth, date of death and a small single ceramic picture.

Important Facts

This first columbarium has 36 double niches and 36 single niches, so it’s capable of holding 108 urns in total.

Those who plan cremation after their death now have another option at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery in Stephenville.
